NF- DF is happy to announce that this year’s workshop will be held by Guro Nagelhus Schia and Vebjørn Sundby!
They both worked with Carte Blanche (The Norwegian National Company of Contemporary Dance) and in the last four years they have worked extensively with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. They also appeared in Joe Wright´s Anna Karenina; both as dancers and Guro also as actor. Together they´ll lead us through a 4-day workshop adressing varition of techniques, with repertoir from different productions and giving us an insight into working with dance on camera.
Guro Nagelhus Schia, Norway:
Graduated at the Norwegian National Academy of Ballet. From 2002-2009 she was engaged with Carte Blanche Dance Theater in Norway, where she worked with choreographers such as Sharon Eyal, Ohad Naharin, Amanda Miller, Ingun Bjørnsgaard and Ina Christel Johannessen, among others. As a freelancer she`s had engagements with Kreutzer Company and Oslo Danse Ensemble. In 2009 she was awarded the Norwegian Dance Artists Scholarship. Guro started working for Eastman in December 2009 and has performed in “Das Rheingold” at Teatro alla Scala, Rein, TeZukA and worked as Cherkaoui’s choreographic assistant on “Labyrinth” with Het Nationale Ballet. She also has a role in the Hollywood film “Anna Karenina”.
Vebjørn Sundby, Norway:
Graduated at the Norwegian National Academy of Ballet. During his time at the academy he formed a group of dancers and musicians who created completely improvised pieces. In 2004 he joined Carte Blanche Dance Theater in Norway, working with choreographers such as Sharon Eyal, Ohad Naharin, Ingun Bjørnsgaard, Hofesh Shechter and Rui Horta. He also worked with Ina Christel Johannessen’s zero visibility corp, performing in “I have a secret to tell you, please leave with me” and “37,7”. Vebjørn started working for Eastman in December 2009 and has been involved with works such as “Das Rheingold” at Teatro alla Scala, Rein and TeZukA.
Payment: 1 600 NOK.
The price includes:
-Festivalpass at the Norwegian Festival of Dance and Film
- Festivalpass at the The Norwegian International Filmfestival.
- 4 Hours workshop each day.
The festivalprogram includes screening of dancefilms in Edda Kino and Haugesund Art Gallery, artist’s talk with discussions and performance.
Enrollment: the registration is binding and the deadline for registering is: July 10
The deposit on 500 NOK should be paid to NF- DF by this deadline.
NF- DF can offer accommodation at Haugar Sports Club House at 100 NOK per night. We will be of assistance in finding other accommodation if that is desirable.

Workshop 2012 – Peter Jasko and Milan Herich
Peter and Milan are known for dynamic and exciting classes. The dancer can do whatever he/ she wishes to do. The classes are based on the relationship between floor and air, and how to explore move ment in different levels. Powerful physicality inspired by life’s sensorial moments.
Peter Jasko, Slovakia:
Graduated from the University of Music and Dramatic Arts, Bratislava and PARTS, Brussels. During his professional life as a dance artist Peter has worked for choreographers and companies such as; Company Roberto Olivan, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and David Zambrano. Jasko has choreographed since 1999 and worked as a teacher since 2002. Along with five other dancers from Slovakia, Peter founded the dancecompany Les Slovaks, which has been touring since 2006 with the works “Opening Night” and “Journey Home”.
Milan Herich, Slovakia:
Graduated from the University of Music and Dramatic Arts, Bratislava and PARTS, Brussels. After leaving school Milan has worked for various European choreographers and companies such as: Zuzanna Hajkova, Ultaima Wez, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and David Zambrano. Herich has assisted David Zambrano since 2000, in addition to teaching his own classes. Milan Herich is co-founder of Les Slovak, which premiered its first work “Opening Night” in 2006, and then “Journey Home” in 2009.
